TO: Alabama Region Phi Theta
Kappa Chapters
FROM: Carlee Jernigan (Alpha Eta Lambda) Regional
President
Hello Fellow Phi Theta Kappa Members!
I ‘m Carlee Jernigan, your 2012-2013 President for the
Alabama Region, and Vice President of Leadership for Alpha Eta Lambda, at
the Brewton campus of Jefferson Davis Community College.
I hope all of you who attended Regional Convention
enjoyed visiting with old and new Phi Theta Kappa friends from all over the
state, learning how to create even better chapter programs, and being
recognized for your hard work. Thanks and congratulations to every chapter
whose efforts made it possible for the Alabama Region to reach the goals we
set.
Now is the time for your chapter to set your Five Star
goals for the coming year. Phi Theta Kappa’s Five Star Chapter Development
Program is a really basic plan for your chapter to use when planning your
activities and projects. You can get more information on this and other
chapter programs at ptk.org (Quick Links; 5 Star Chapter Development Plan).
Once your chapter has submitted the initial online Goal Form at ptk.org, you
will be able to track your chapter’s progress toward earning a certificate
for the level achieved. Each chapter participating in the Five Star Program
will receive special recognition at our Regional Convention in the spring.
Please call on me or your District VP when you have questions about how we
can help you reach your goals.
We want this to be a fun and productive year for your
chapter, so if I or the other Regional Officers can assist you in any way
please send us an e-mail. Contact me or your District Vice President if you
need more information about how your chapter can develop its full potential.

their e-mail addresses, pictures of inductions and chapter events. We would
like to attend your future inductions, so send us the dates when you have
them. We would also like to post pictures and news of your chapter
activities on our Regional website, alptk.com so
please send these to us as often as you can, so we can all get to know each
other!
Sincerely,
Carlee
